Yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock Mr. Albert H. Schenk and Miss Florence Shackelford entered the Walker street church. In a few minutes they came out man and wife. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. R. King, in a manner calculated to inspire all with the beauty and impressiveness of such a step. A large crowd of friends attended, and after the ceremony showered their congratulations upon the happy couple. Among those present who bore the deepest admiration for the lovely bride were twelve Chinamen. They knew Miss Shackelford as a Christian lady, teaching the word of God in the Sunday school at their church. Often had they received consolation and words of advice from her lips, and their affection and admiration for her is unbounded. They not only attended the wedding, but contributed $5 towards purchasing a handsome Bible, presented the bride by the Sunday school. The groom is a well-known machinist working for Winship & Brother, and has gained many friends by his conduct and nature.
