His son A.J. served in the Army of the Confederate States, enlisting May 12, 1862 at Ellijay, GA, Company H, 65 GA. Mountaintown Baptist Church was Nine Mile Methodist Church during JPC II's lifetime.Lifelong membership in Nine Mile Methodist Church. Buried there with Masonic Honors. Revs. N.L. Osborn and A.M. Johnson conducted services. A Committee from the Masonic Lodge was appointed to draft suitable resolutions, which will be published in our next Issue.
