"Gilmer County Superior Court Deeds, Deed Book G, 1844-1846", page 290 John Jones To William Gudger No. 172-11-2 State of Georgia, Gilmer County This indenture made this the twenty first day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty five. Between John Jones of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and William Gudger of Buncombe County and State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Jones for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars by the said William Gudger to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents hath grant bargain sell and convey to the said William Gudger his heirs and assigns. All that lot or parcel of land situated and lying and being in the Eleventh district of the second section of originally Cherokee now Gilmer County and known and distinguished in the plan of said district by Lot number one hundred and seventy two (No 172). To have and to hold said lot or parcel of land unto him the said William Gudger his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the right members and appurtenances thereto the same in any way belonging to his or their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the said John Jones for himself his heirs and administrators and assigns the said bargained premises unto the said William Gudger his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whomsoever.
