Bearden No. 262=6=2 Georgia Gilmer County This Indenture made this the Twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord 1847 between Thomas Gibson of the County of Twiggs and State aforesaid of the one part and Washington W. Bearden of the State aforesaid and County of Gilmer. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Gibson for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and twenty dollars cash in hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Washington W. Bearden his heirs and assigns All tract or parcel of land situate lying in the sixth district and second section in Cherokee County, containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less, which is known and distinguished in the plan of said district by the number Two Hundred and sixty two,262, containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less with all the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To Have and To Hold the above described lot of land unto him the said Washington W. Bearden his heirs and assigns to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the said Thomas Gibson for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators the said bargained premises together with the rights title and possession thereof unto the said Washington W. Bearden his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the rights and titles thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the said Thomas Gibson hath set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written. Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Tested Wm. Parker his Thomas Gibson (L.S.) Jacob X Bearden mark Georgia Gilmer County. Before Robert Smith an acting Justice of the peace for said County came William Parker and after being duly sworn and saith in oath that he signed the within deed as a subscribing witnessand saw Jacob Bearden assing the same.
