           Mrs Mary Alice May Ford, 78, RETIRED SEAMSTRESS
Mrs. Mary Alice May Ford, 78, of 1425 Walton Way, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, 
at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Platt's Funeral Home, Crawford Avenue, 
with the Revs. Bill Rice and Paul Hall officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in 
Pine Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Washington County, Ga.
Mrs. Ford, a native of Glascock County, Ga., was a retired seamstress and a 
member of Southgate Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James A. Ford; two sons, Robert G. May, 
Jeffersonville, Ga., and James E. May, Evans; two daughters, Joyce May 
Montgomery, Hephzibah, and Janice May Brigham, Augusta; three stepdaughters, 
Jeanette Broulliard, Patsy Quales and Betty Hillis, all of Augusta; and 10 
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Hall, Vince Goodwin, Martin Johnson, Randy Quales, 
Jay May and Keith May.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Alice was born 20 Oct 1919 to Thomas Alfonzo Stephen Johnson and Emma 
Sammons Johnson. Her parents are buried in Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist 
Church Cemetery in Gibson, Ga.
