Funeral services will be held at New Fratus Baptist Church (sic Euphrates Baptist Church) tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. J. W. Brantley officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard. Pallbearers, all grandsons of Mr. Newsome, will be Lester Newsome, Wibur Newsome, John Newsome, Vernon Newsome, Eugene Newsome, J. S. Marsh, and Walter Williford. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Clara Whitehead Newsome; nine daughters, Mrs. Leona McNeal, Augusta, Mrs. William Hall, Augusta, Mrs. Luther Newsome, Warrrenton, Miss Jepherin Newsome, Warrrenton, Miss Ether Marsh, Gibson, Mrs. Hartwell Williford, Gibson, Mrs. Lewis Jackson, Aiken, SC, Miss Virginia Newsome, Aiken, SC, and Mrs. Jobie Wood, Aiken, SC; four sons, Elbert Newsome, Warrenton, and Herbert, Homer, and Hilery Newsome, all of Augusta; 41 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Additional Comments: Jackson was born 16 Apr 1868. His first wife was Martha Jane Sammons Newsome who is also buried in Euphrates Cemetery.
