                 DEATH YESTERDAY OF MRS. MARTHA NEWSOME
           Funeral Services at Gibson, Ga.; This Afternoon
 Mrs. Martha Jane Newsome died at the University Hospital yesterday afternoon 
at 6:07 o'clock after an illness of one month. She was 48 years old.
 The remains will be sent this morning to Gibson, Ga. where the funeral 
services will be conducted at the Euphrates Baptist Church this afternoon at 
3:30 o'clock. Interment will occur in the Euphrates Cemetery.
 The deceased is survived by her husband, Jackson Newsome; four sons, Herbert, 
Homer, Hilary, and Elbert Newsome; five daughters, Misses Alice, Nancy, Flora, 
and Thelma Newsome and Mrs. Colonel McNeal of Louisville; two brothers, Jim and 
Jack Sammons; two sisters, Mrs. Sidney Parrish and Mrs. J. D. McCoy of Gibson; 
and eight grandchildren.

Martha was born 5 Jun 1871 to Nancy Rutha Sammons.
