J. Wilder & Co., began work again last Monday, having rebuilt their distillery over the ashes of the old one. We love to see such enterprise. Additional Comments: Jesse Wilder quickly rebuilds his new turpentine distillery at the same location as that one recently burned in Brunswick, GA. A few years later, after the death of his wife, Fanny, he would return to Wilmington, NC and continue in the management of the Geo. L. Morton, Co., a turpentine distillery which, in it's original form, was started by Jesse. During his brief venture to Brunswick, GA, Jesse Wilder obtained a reputation of being an honest businessman and respected citizen. He was a Brunswick town alderman from 1882-84.
