AUSTIN DIED LAST NIGHT Joseph B. Austin, 60, resident of Brunswick since 1912, died unexpectedly last night at his home, 1402 Union street. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the residence, with the Rev. Anthony Hearn, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, with the Miller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The Henry T. Ross post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will serve as an honorary escort and full military honors will be paid at the graveside by the local National Guard. Active pall bearers will be Roy Heaton, Burgay Staley, Walker Kinsman, R.S. Browne, Jordie Warnell and Hugh Cook. Mr. Austin was born in Wayne county, but spent most of his life in Brunswick and Glynn county. He was for years connected with the New York Central Railroad. He was a veteran of World War I, having served overseas. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kate Franklin Austin, and one daughter, Mrs. Frank W. Hardy of Norfolk, Va.
