BLACK, AGED LOCAL RESIDENT DIES IN SAVANNAH Mrs. Mellvina [sic] Fraser Black, 89-year-old Brunswick resident, passed away last night at a convalescent home in Savannah, where she had been for some time. Despite her age, Mrs. Black had enjoyed fairly good health until several weeks ago, and later her condition became serious. Born in Brunswick, Mrs. Black had spent all of her life here with the exception of a short time she resided in Texas. She was a member of an old and well known Glynn County family, being the last living member of it. In her younger years she was active in church and other circles. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. L.J. Leavy, a granddaughter, Mrs. William Locke of Reno, Nevada, and three great grandchildren. Private funeral services were held at the graveside in the family plot in Oak Grove Cemetery this afternoon, conducted by the Rev. W.E. Dennis. The Miller Funeral Home was in charge.
