During the evening the children of the family, Casey, by name (new-comers here, we understand), were playing pranks on each other, and with false faces, scaring each other, etc. At bed-time the child in question got into bed and said something about “old booggerman,” an expression they had been using to frighten each other. In a few moments the light was extinguished, and immediately after, the child was taken with a terrible convulsion, from which it never recovered. It died in a very short while. Its disease was, no dout [sic], of the heart, and was superinduced by the fright received.
