JOHN CROSBY, COUNTY RESIDENT, KILLED IN ACTION Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Crosby, of Sterling, well known Glynn county residents, have been advised by the War Department that their son, Pvt. John Crosby, U.S. Army, was killed in action in Germany on September 22. He had been overseas for ten months aid [sic] participated in the invasion of France. He entered service October 28, 1942. Besides his parents he is survived by three brothers, Elbert Crosby, who is in the Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., another brother, Henry Crosby, who is in the Navy serving overseas, and a third brother, Raymond Crosby, of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Davis and Miss Margaret Crosby, of Jacksonville, Fla., also survive.
