The Brunswick News Monday July 16, 1984
Earl Deal, 73, of 508 Palmetto on St. Simons 
Island died Saturday night at the Glynn-
Brunswick Memorial Hospital after an extended 
illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. 
Tuesday at the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral 
Home chapel with Elder William H. Dorrance 
officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. 
at the Lake Chapel Baptist churchyard near 
Bristol.

He was a native of Appling County and had been 
a resident of Glynn County for the past 35 
years. He retired from Sea Island in 1974 in 
the landscaping department. He was a member of 
the Lake Chapel Baptist Church in Bristol.

Survivors are his wife, Ethel Kimbrell Deal of 
St. Simons; two daughters, Betty L. Thompson 
of Jacksonville, Fla and Ann Flowers of 
Brunswick; four sons Ralph Deal of Miami 
Florida, Truman and Charles Deal, both of 
Brunswick and Jimmy Deal of St. Simons; 21 
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

Active pallbearers will be Edsel White, 
Garland Chasteen, Cotton Johnson, Dan Buchan, 
Don Buchan said Gerald Buchan. Honorary 
pallbearers will be Dr. Hurley D. Jones, Dr. 
A.W. Strickland, John Green and cousins and 
nephews. 

The body will remain in the chapel of the 
funeral home for services and the family will 
receive friends in the chapel from 6 until 9 
tonight. 

The family requests those wishing to make 
contributions to the charity of the donor's 
choice.

Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge 
of arrangements.
