Davis killed his wife by mistake. Davis had been troubled with burglars and kept his gun loaded the last few days, waiting to catch one of them. Sunday night his wife walked out in the yard and without giving him warning started back into the house. Davis saw her through the window and poking the doublebarreled shotgun through discharged a load of nine buckshot in her back. She screamed and he then discovered that it was his wife. She died Monday morning, fully exonerating her husband.
