GOINS FUNERAL FRIDAY The funeral for Letha Dowling Goins, 74, of St. Simons Island will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. William's Catholic Church with the Rev. Germaine Belen officiating. Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery. She died Tuesday at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center. A wake service will be held at 7 tonight at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Pallbearers will be M.F. Canas, Charles Owens, Frank Owens, Leo Owens, William Harpstripe and Mark Crumrine. Honorary pallbearers will be George Dorsey, A.V. Medlin, Robert Bowers, Mack Mattingly, Tommy Olmstead, E.A. Lewis and Drs William F. Austin, Herman Levy, Eric Bournigal and Arthur Hagen. Surviving are a daughter, Nina Owens of St. Simons; three brothers, Lenard L. Dowling, Robert L. Dowling and Harry J. Dowling, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was a native of Ware County and had been a resident of Glynn County the past 57 years. She was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and a member of St. William's Catholic Church.
