S.J. GORTON DEAD—Expired at Three O’clock On Yesterday Morning Major S.J. Gorton, one of Glynn county’s oldest and most highly respected citizens, passed away early yesterday morning at his residence, 814 D street, after an illness of some months. The funeral will occur from his late home at 9 o’clock this morning and Rev. Thornton of the Second Advent church will conduct the services. The interment will be in the graveyard at Taylor’s chapel. The deceased was probably the oldest citizen of this county and he had numerous friends who will be grieved to hear of his death.
