Troy W. Hodges Sr., 84, of Brantley County and formerly of Brunswick died at his
residence Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006
.
Mr. Hodges was a native of Clinch County and had been a resident of Brunswick
for 60 years. He was a retired Teamster and a member of the Southside Baptist
Church where he was a deacon, trustee and taught the men's Sunday School class.
He was a veteran of U.S. Army during World War II serving in the Normandy
invasion. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart and the
Bronze Star.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Southside Baptist
Church in Brunswick with the Revs. James E. Woods and Michael Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mike Hodges, Johnny Cook, Calvin Cook, Zenith Parker, Joe Crews and Charles
Parker will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men's Sunday school class, Lydia Sunday School
Class and the staff at Davita Dialysis Clinic-North.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Edo Miller &
amp; Sons Funeral Home

Survivors are a son Troy W. Hodges Jr. of St. Simons Island; two daughters,
Edith Ann Clark of Hortense and Susan V. Woods of Brunswick; three
grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family request contributions to the Alzheimer Association, Glynn County
Chapter or the American Kidney Fund.
