Mr. Holmes, who resided on Hopkins avenue, west of the plant of the Georgia Veneer and Package Company, was engaged in painting the McCosker Service Station on the Coastal Highway. He was on the scaffold when in some way he lost his balance and fell to the pavement, a distance of some ten or twelve feet. Mr. Holmes had been a resident of Brunswick all of his life and was well known among a large number of friends, who will regret to learn of the unfortunate accident. He is survived by two brothers, Andrew and John Holmes, and one sister, Miss Helen Holmes, all of this city. Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 o’clock, conducted by the Rev. W.F. Jamison, of the Advent Christian church. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Gibson-Hart Funeral Home.
