WILLIAM MARXSEN DIES TODAY AT RESIDENCE

        William Bartanick Marxsen, 89, of Jekyll Island, died early today at 
his residence.
        The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of McClurd-
Mullis Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam West officiating.
        He was a native of Chicago, Ill. and a retired lawyer.  He graduated 
from the University of Illinois and was a veteran of World War I serving in 
the U.S. Army.  He was also a member of the St. Richards Episcopal Church on 
Jekyll Island.
        Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Sutcliffe Marxsen of Jekyll 
Island; one son, Roger Sutcliffe Marxsen of Jekyll Island; one brother, Sophus 
Marxsen of Evanston, Ill., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
        McClurd-Mullis Meorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
