15 August 1877 The Brunswick Advertiser & Appeal; pg. 3 col. 1

	We regret to hear of the death of Mr. T.M. Mayhew, of New York, whose 
amputation of a leg we noticed in a previous issue.  He died from its effects 
on the 4th inst., at his home on Long Island, and his bereaved family have our 
sympathy.  A good man gone to his rest.
