Additional Comments: Ruby was the youngest daughter of James (Jim) Monroe Layfield and Mary Elizabeth Watson. She was born on 9 Jun 1886 in Taylor County, Ga. On November 11, 1906, she married Thaddeus McAllister (Mac) Mroczkowski in Taylor County. Their first child, Rufus Edward, was born in Junction City, Ga. on 7 Sep 1907. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Brunswick, Georgia where Mac and Ruby would live the rest of their lives. The couple had two more children, James (Jim) and Dorothy. Sadly, they lost their one and only daughter at the age of six. Ruby, her husband Mac and their children Dorothy and Jim, are buried at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, Ga. Their oldest child Rufus, is buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Ruby is the sister of my great-grandfather Ed Layfield. I would like to correspond with anyone researching the Layfield family.
