Former Resident 103 Years of Age, Dies in Waycross

Thaddeus K. Mroczkowski, 103 years of age, a former well known Brunswick 
resident, died early today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. A. Dankel, 
in Waycross and he will be buried here.

Mr. Mroczkowski was born in Morristown, New Jersey, and he made his home in 
Brunswick for about 30 years before going to Waycross about 20 years ago. In 
his younger years he was a cabinetmaker and he was with the old Brunswick 
and Western Railroad now the Atlanta Coast Line for a number of years.

Mr. Mroczkowski passed his 103rd birthday last June 22.

Besides his daughter in Waycross, he is survived by a son, T. M. 
Mroczkowski, of Brunswick, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. 
Among the grandchildren locally are Thad Dankel and James Mroczkowski

Funeral services will be held in Waycross Friday afternoon and interment 
will be in the family plot in Palmetto Cemetery here at 4 o’clock. Edo 
Miller & Sons are handling local arrangements.



Additional Comments:
Thaddeus was the son of Joseph T. Mroczkowski and Hetty T. Alward. He married 
Mary McAllister on 20 Sep 1877 in Dougherty County, Ga. The family moved to 
Brunswick, Ga. in 1886. They had two children.
