The State Patrol said Harris Branham O’Conner, 26, 3102 Peninsula Avenue, was within the St. Marys city limits, driving toward Kingsland when he apparently lost control of the truck. The mishap occurred at 8:20 a.m., the patrol reported. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James O’Conner, he is survived by three brothers. Additional survivors and funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The Brunswick News; Friday 6 October 1961; pg. 12 col. 6 SERVICES TOMORROW FOR HARRIS O’CONNOR Funeral services for Harris Branham O’Connor, who was killed at St. Marys yesterday when his truck left the road, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Hunter officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, with the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He had lived in Brunswick for the past 18 years, coming here from Sylvania. He had been employed by the Seaboard Construction Co. for only a week. He served with the Army from 1957 through 1959, and was a member of the reserve unit here. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. O’Connor; three brothers, Donald, William and Edward, all of Brunswick. The body will be placed in the church at 2 o’clock to await the hour of service. Active pallbearers are Ray Keene, Charles Sellers, J.D. Lowe, Ross Ward, Kenneth James and Kendall James.
