MR. JAMES PATTERSON, OF UNION ISLAND NEAR DARIEN IS DEAD

ACCIDENTALLY SHOT—A colored man on St. Simons accidentally shot another negro 
man on last Tuesday afternoon.  He was in the act of firing at a beef, when he 
missed his aim, and put the load into the abdomen of a negro helper.  The 
wounded man died on Thursday.
