Coroner Jennings was summoned, but did not deem it necessary to hold an inquest, as the old fellow had been ill three days before his death. He had eaten several watermelons at one sitting, which caused his illness. Bowles was discharged. He is a brother of Rob Brewer, the noted desperado.
