Mr. Thompson was a native and lifelong resident of Brunswick. He had been employed with Atlas Sign Co. and Fendig Sign Shop. He served in the Georgia National Guard. He was a member of the Golden Isles Camera Club and the Brunswick Model Railroad Club. The family will receive friends at a graveside service to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Palmetto Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Strumfa, Terry Hughes, Don Hogan, Edwin Fendig, Neal Fendig, Wally Mendenhal, Burt Smith, Lyle Certain and Henry Wynn. The family requests contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice. Survivors include two brothers, Hubert G. Thompson and Donny Thompson, both of Brunswick; and a sister, Bettie Thompson Faulk of Stafford, Va.
