(Shorty) Tyson, 59, was dead on arrival at the Brunswick hospital Friday night. He resided at 2002 Ellis Street, was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Johnson County, and was in the US Army Air Force during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clara Farr Tyson; his father, G. L. Tyson of Macon; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Croft and Mrs. Margie Elliott of Brunswick, Mrs. Grace Evans and Mrs. Jeffie Hall of Macon; five brothers, Albert, Randolph,and Cody Tyson of Macon, A. J. Tyson of Dublin, and W. D. Tyson of Greenville, NC. Funeral services, under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Sunday at 3pm with the Rev. W. R. Whitley officiating. Interment will folow in Palmetto Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Edward Lockhart, Chester Lockhart, Allen Powell, Henry F. Thompson, O. C. Doss, and John Green. Additional Comments: Shorty was born 14 Nov 1909 to George Jefferson Tyson and Lincy Fannie Sammons Tyson. Georgia death certificate #036291.
