TOOK HIS OWN LIFE

Our community was shocked on Sunday last with the startling intelligence that 
Mr. Christopher Wright, an old citizen of this county, had shot himself.  
Investigation proved the report too true.—  It seems Mr. right has been 
suffering for some time with great depression of mind, in so much that he has 
made other attempts to end his existence, but had failed.  On Sabbath morning 
last, however, he succeeded by placing a loaded pistol to his hearth and 
firing.  He must have died immediately, as he was found in much the same 
position as he evidently was when the fatal shot was fired.
