I Barnard Nicolau of Glynn County in the State of Georgia Planter being of sound disposing mind and memory and being desirous of setting my worldly affairs whilst I have health strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void any and all former Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made. Imprimis. It is my desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my Estate by my Executrix hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be. Item. I give and devise to my three sons Joseph, Benjamin, and Stephen share and share alike to them and their respective Legal heirs, my two Tracks [sic] of Land lying and being in Glynn County aforesaid. To wit one Tract containing (250) Two hundred and fifty acres more or less and the other Tract containing (600) Six hundred acres more or less butting and bounding to the west on the road called John Couper road and further bounding to the west on my Plantation whereon I reside called Marengo. Item. By virtue of the marriage settlement my dear wife Elizabeth is entitled to the enjoyment of all the property I may die possessed of during her natural life the said two Tracts of Land devised to my three sons excepted. Now my will is that all the residue and remainder of my property real and personal shall after the death of my said wife be equally divided between my said three sons Joseph, Benjamin, and Stephen and my only Daughter Fanny now Mrs. Hazlehurst. to them and their Legal heirs and representatives forever share and share alike. Lastly. I do hereby nominate and appoint my dear wife Elizabeth Nicolau Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal at Charleston aforesaid this Eighteenth day of January Anno Domini One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty six.
