Ellis 1886-1954 (The initial M. is for Manuel) Myrtice M. Ellis 1900-1976 ( The initial M. is for Matthews) Caroline Sibley Ellis born in Augusta, Georgia 7/01/183 - no death date. (She was the daughter of Jonathan and Abigail Roff Ellis. Stephen Bugg Ellis 10/08/1903 - 1977 Section G. Willie Mae T. Ellis 1913-1968 Coleman R. Ellis 7/26/1914 - 3/18/1981 J Section T. M. Ellis (10/07/1839 - 4/16/1900 (The initials T.M. were for Thomas Moses. His wife, Susan Phillips Ellis was a sister of Naomi Josephine Phillips Ellis, wife of Matt. E. Ellis) Susan (Phillips) Ellis 1/28/1842 - 12/28/1897. ( Susan & T.M. were married.) Matt E. Ellis 9/13/1844 - 4//04/1922. ( His full name was Matthew Edward Ellis and was married to Naomi J. Phillips.) Josie (Phillips) Ellis widow of Matt. 4/27/1849 - 1/15/1897. (my grandmother) Matt. Reeve Ellis (no dates on this stone) Rufe Malone Ellis 6 months. (no dates on this stone) Naomi J. 4/27/1849 - 1/15/1897 ( This is the same as Josie (Phillips) Ellis. Her full name was Naomi Josephine Phillips Ellis. I don't know if there were two stones for her or why they listed her twice. The ones who went to the cemetery are now all deceased so am unable to find out why they have her down with two different names). Tommie G. Ellis age 4 ( I later found his name on the 1880 mortality list in Calhoun, Georgia stating that he had died of Croup in May at the age of three years.) Eddie L. Ellis - age 2 ( I later located his name listed in the 1880 census of Calhoun, GA as age 1) Minnie Bell (no dates on stone) Mrs. E.G. Ellis 7/16/1803 - 4/16/1900. (This was Matt's mother and my great grandmother). John W. Ellis and Elizabeth Ellerbee were married December 9,1847 in Greene County, Georgia. They are found in 1860 in Newton County, Georgia. John served in the Civil War where he was wounded in 1862. He never returned to his family but supposedly went to Oklahoma and began a new family. Elizabeth went to Calhoun, Gordon County, Georgia and lived with her son Matthew Edward Ellis until her death. She was buried in the Fain Cemetery and her stone reads, Mrs. E.G. Ellis, born July 16, 1803, died April 16, 1900. She is buried next to her son, Matthew and his wife Neomi Josephine Phillips Ellis. Elizabeth and John may have had another son by the name of William.
