"Directions: Located South side of Hwy 53 E. at Sonoraville,
Gordon County, Georgia, across from the old Sonoraville
School. From I75, take the Calhoun Hwy 53 exit. Go East on
Hwy 53 a little less than seven miles. There will be a new
school complex on the left (North). East of the new school is
the old Sonoraville School. The cemetery is across the street
from the old school. West of the cemetery is the Sonoraville
Lodge No. 221 F&AM and a Gordon County Fire Department. "				


"The earliest grave is that of James H.F.GAINES, who died
February 1,1894. The cemetery is well maintained. There were
only one or two tombstones that were not readable. The
cemetery is still active, with several recent graves. There
are approx 300 gravesites laid out in thirteen parallel rows.
The survey did not include graves (old and new) that did not
have markers. "
