I certify in honor. That I am not indebted to the Confederate States that I am not under charge in sentence of a Court Martial, that I have no government property in my possession. I am very respectfully your servant Josephus Trimble, Jr 2nd Lt. Co "D" 8th Battalion Office Medical Examining Board Walkers Division March 25th 1864 J. Trimble 2nd Lieut Co D 8th Ga Batt having applied for a certificate in which to ground a tender of Resignation do hereby certify that we have carefully examined this officer and find that he is suffering from Chronic Rheumatism of 12 months duration.
