Calhoun Times, February 12, 1975
Mrs. M.A. (Webbie Hudgins) Acree Sr., age 85, passed away Tuesday morning, 
February 11, in the local hospital following several months illness.  She was 
born and reared in Gordon County and spent her entire life here.  She was a 
member of the Sonoraville Baptist Church.  Mrs. Acree was the widow of the 
late Dr. M.A. Acree Sr.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H.W. Weaver of 
Calhoun; nine sons, Hill Acree of Acworth, Travis Acree of Decatur, J.T. and 
Harold Acree of Calhoun, Roy Acree of Cataula, Samuel Acree of Griffin, Dr. 
John Acree of Hiawassee, the Rev. Troy Acree of Douglasville, and Marvin Acree 
of Decatur; 31 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. 
Nannie Coley, Atlanta.  Funeral services for Mrs. Acree were conducted 
Wednesday, February 12, at 3 p.m. from Sonoraville Baptist Church with the 
Rev. Aaron Jones officiating.  Grandsons served as pallbearers.  Thomas 
Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
Mrs. Acree was born on January 29, 1889, to Elijah Webb Hudgins and Sarah 
Avaline "Sallie" Jones in Gordon County, Georgia.  She married Marvin Alvin 
Acree on June 18, 1912, in Gordon County, Georgia.
