He was born on June 17, 1928 in Gordon County, son of the late Colquitt and Vera Durham Black. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Black. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and John Foster of the Pine Chapel community, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral was Wednesday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Anderson Memorial Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Singing was arranged by Betty Fair. Pallbearers were Charles Guyton, Bob Angland, Wayne Howell, Tony Black, Kenneth Angland, and David Guyton. Interment was in Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
