He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Poarch Black; six sons, Ford, Conway, Edgebert and Sam Black, of Calhoun, Marvin Black of Resaca, and Erwin Black of Dalton; four daughters, Mrs. Gordon Couch of Fitzgerald, Mrs. John Kardash of Baltimore Maryland, Miss Anne Ruth Black and Mrs. Abner McEntyre of Calhoun; 33 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Norman Black of Calhoun, and Bee, Clark and Colquit Black of Oakman; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Crane Eater Church of God were conducted by the Rev. Gordon Mize and the Rev. T. Y. Black. The Charles T. Owens Quartet was in charge of music. Pallbearers were Carl McNeese, Clint Taylor, Abner McEntyre, George Black, D. R. Nelson and Elbert Shepard. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
