Mrs. Black was born on Jan. 8, 1923 in Hennager, Ala., a daughter of the late Waymon Augustus and Tennie Harrison Holland. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and had worked in the textile and restaurant industries for many years. She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lee Black, May 3, 1980. Survivors include, her husband, Carl Franklin Black, to whom she was married for 41 years; two daughters, Mrs. Joann Coker of Calhoun and Mrs. Edna Jean Polina of Sugar Valley; a son, Carl Jimmy Black of Resaca; a sister, Mrs. Annie Mae Gwin of Oostanaula; a brother, Eugene Holland of Calhoun; 20 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. “copy cut off” , and included Wilson Bob Coker, Jr., Steven Vann Coker, Bryan Keith Coker, Michael Anthony Trammell, Robert Franklin Trammell, and Jeffery Thomas Trammell. Honorary pallbearers included, Anthony Wade Jones, Jackie Lee Jackson, Rathael S. Gentry, Daniel Brown and Troy Parker. Interment was in the family lot of Sugar Valley (Old) United Methodist Church Cemetery.
