He was born and reared in Gordon County and attended the Liberty Schools. Survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Black of Plainville; one sister, Sallie Black; seven brothers, Noel, Tommy, Trammell, Earl, Gary and Nevin all of Plainville and David Black of Calhoun; grandmother, Mrs. Sallie Black of Calhoun, and grandfather, T. H. Thomas of Calhoun. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Willis and the Rev. Gordon Mize officiating. Charles T. Owens was in charge of the musical arrangements. Pallbearers were Clay Stewart, Don Hall, Jack Hobgood, Ralph Bowman, Sammy Black and Tony Black. Interment in Franklin Cemetery with Thomas Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
