L. P. BLACK Mrs. Lela Pearl Black, 80, of the Fidelle Community, died Wednesday Feb. 27, 1991 in Gordon County Hospital following a long illness. Mrs. Black was born Sept. 25, 1910, in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Issac and Elmina Wells Edwards. She was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Black was the widow of Marvin Black who died in 1976. Survivors include, a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Davis of Calhoun, two sons and daughters-in-law, Max and Mary Black of St. Louis, Mo., and Larry and Jean Black of Calhoun; two brothers and sisters-in-law, A. R. (Fritz) and Flonnie Edwards of Resaca and Hugh and Myrtle Edwards of Calhoun; step- brother, Sam Johnson of Acworth; granddaughters Lisa Black and Deri Sandbothe; grandsons, Chris Black, Scott Black and Matthew Davis; sis great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral was a 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 1991, from the Maple Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Stephens conducting the service. Singing was arranged by Jerry Rice. Pallbearers included, Willis Mashburn, Jimmy Edwards, Creswell Black, Matthew Davis, Don Edwards and Chris Black. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery with Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun in charge of arrangements.
