He had lived in Oakman community all his life and attended Oakman and Red Bud Schools. He was a member of the White Graves Church. Survivors include his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Black; four brothers, Hollis, Clarence, Grethel, and Anthony, all of Resaca Rte. 1. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Black of Cartersville, also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from the White Graves Church with the Rev. Glenn Smith of Adairsville and the Rev. E. M. Garrett officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers included James Hayes, James Sutherland, Billy Suggs, Russell Prichett, Denson Suggs, and Jerry Black.
