Mr. Abe Greeson While in Field Meets Horrible Death," The Calhoun (Georgia) Times, 31 Mar 1910, p. 1. CLOTHING ON FIRE BURNED TO DEATH. Mr. Abe Greeson While in Field Meets Horrible Death. ------------------------ Mr. Abe Greeson met a horrible death Friday afternoon. Mr. Greeson was in his field cleaning off land and burning off the ditch banks. It is supposed that his clothing caught on fire and he was unable to put the fire out as he was alone. He was found later in the evening burned nearly up. Mr. Greeson was 80 years old and spent the most of his life in Gordon County and was a good citizen and a good neighbor and a kind and loving father. He leaves an aged companion and five sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. His remains were laid to rest at Corinth Cemetery Saturday afternoon funeral service by Rev. J. M. Austin. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones. Additional Comments: Newspaper can be accessed on microfilm in the Special Collections room at the Calhoun-Gordon County Library, Calhoun, Georgia.
