DREW W. LONG

	Mr. Drew W. Long, 80, of Fairmount, died Monday (July 4, 1983) at 9 
p.m. in the Murray County Memorial Hospital, following several weeks of 
illness.
	Mr. Long was born in Pickens County on Oct. 17, 1902, a son of the 
late Drew W. and Mary Puckett Long.  He was a member and deacon of New Hope 
Baptist Church.
	Survivors include, his widow, Mary B. Long; four daughters, Mrs. 
Harvey Drucker of Decatur, Mrs. William King of Lawrenceville, Mrs. Bruce Reed 
of Blacksburg, Va., and Mrs. Ronald Johnson of Oakman; a daughter, Mrs. 
Margaret Prather of Ranger; a brother, Bunyon Long of Ranger; five 
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
	Funeral was Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the New Hope Baptist Church with 
Revs. Lloyd Patterson, and Sam Bryan and Alfred Patterson conducting the 
service.  Singing was arranged by Frank Wyatt.
	Pallbearers included, Robert Long, J. B. Long, Bob Moss, Boyd Swanson, 
John Horton and Earl Long.  Honorary pallbearers were Jack Crider, Grady 
Burger, Lawson Hopper, Gary Phillips, Boyce Davis and Harold Jackson.
	Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery.
