ELMER C. LONG

	Mr. Elmer C. Long, 87, of 270 Long Road, Rydal died Saturday 
afternoon, April 28, 2001 at Starcrest Nursing Home, following a lengthy 
illness.
	He was born in Fannin County on Sept. 13, 1913, son of the late J. J. 
Long and Nettie Free Long.  Hew was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 
and was retired from J.A.F. Corporation.
	Survivors include his wife, Elise Thurman Long of Rydal, to whom he 
was married March 20, 1942; three brothers, Reed Long of Fairmount and Dennis 
and James Long, both of Rydal; and nieces and nephews.
	Funeral was Tuesday, May 1 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 
with the Revs. Jerry Cowart and Ernest Land officiating.  Interment was in the 
church cemetery.  Pallbearers were George Long, Douglas Long, Eric Bearden 
Allen Bearden Jr., Jerry Thurman, Dennis Sutton, and Ricky Boyd.
	R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home of Adairsville was in charge of 
arrangements.
