Jack Lamb officiating. Burial was in the Ryo Cemetery near Fairmount. Miss Cochran died in Floyd Hospital in Rome Wednesday at 11:45 a. m. after a brief illness. Born in Ranger Aug. 4, 1892, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Cindy Shelhouse Cochran. A member of Damascus Baptist Church, near Fairmount, she had made her home in Gordon County until entering a Floyd County convalescent home. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Her nephews served as pallbearers. ---------- Funeral notice by Combs Funeral Home in same issue Miss Eva Cochran Miss Eva Cochran of Calhoun passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 11:45 a. m. in the Floyd Hospital in Rome following a brief illness. Miss Cochran was born Aug. 4, 1894, in Ranger, daughter of the late Billy and Cindy Shellhouse Cochran. She had made her home in Gordon County until becoming a resident of a Floyd County convalescent home. She was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church, near Fairmount. She was 79 years old. Miss Cochran’s survivors include several nieces and nephews of Gordon and Floyd County. Funeral services for Miss Cochran were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Combs Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Lamb officiating. Nephews served as pallbearers. Interment was in the Ryo Cemetery near Fairmount. Additional Comments: Eva was the daughter of William Cochran and Lucinda Shelhorse (not Shellhouse) both of Gordon County, Georgia. She was the granddaughter of Myers Cochran/Phoebe Dickey and Henry Fleming Shelhorse, Sr./Elizabeth Bates who also lived in Gordon County, Georgia.
