E. Cochran Oscar E. Cochran, age 69, of Rt. 2, Fairmount, died Tuesday, August 14, at his residence, following six months of declining health. Mr. Cochran had spent his entire life in Gordon County, except for several years spent in Texas. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Miss Ovalle Cochran; one son, J. D. Cochran; two sisters, Miss Eva Cochran of Rt. 2, Calhoun, and Mrs. C. M. McLod of Summerville; four brothers, A. D. Cochran of Ranger, Everett Cochran of Rt. 3, Calhoun, J. M. Cochran of Teleguah, Oklahoma and W. H. Cochran of Modestria, Calif. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 15, at 2 p.m. at the Ryo Baptist Church, with the Rev. Monroe Taylor and the Rev. M. R. Chambers conducting the services. Music was furnished by Alfred Padgett. The Internment was in an adjoining cemetery with Thomas Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Surviving sister, Mrs. C. M. (Elizabeth) McLeod not McLod. Surviving brother W. H. Cochran lived in Modesto, CA not Modestria.
