The funeral services was conducted by Rev.’s W. A. Woody, W. W. Putman, and Rev. Tim Allen of Talking Rock. At the conclusion of the services the Masons took charge of his body and he was buried with Masonic honors by the Morning Star Lodge of which he was Worshipful Master for several years at Fairmount. Mr. Cochran was 63 years of age. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his demise. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family, and hope that we will meet our brother again in that Grand Lodge above. Additional Comments: John Cochran was the son of Myers Cochran and Phoebe Dickey, grandson of James Cochran and grandson of James Dickey/Polly Douglas who lived in Gordon Co., Georgia. He was born August 23, 1850. His wife was Margaret Dodson born November 14, 1854 died October 28, 1928. John and Margaret are buried in East Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery near Fairmount.
