William L. Sellers, CSA The descendants of Pvt. William Lewis Sellers, Company E, 50th Georgia Infantry, CSA, will hold a marker dedication service on Mar. 20, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Sellers Cemetery. The Sellers Cemetery is located off Hadley Ferry Road, Grady County, GA. Pvt. Sellers was the son of Simeon Thurman and Ruth G. Lewis Sellers. According to the 1870 Census for Thomas County, the children of Pvt. William Lewis Sellers and Sara Hinson Sellers were: Simeon F., who married Anna Osana Reiser; the Rev. William Green, who married Ella Pippin; John and Mary (twins), she married John O. Harrell; Eliza, who married John G. Rehberg; Rutha Fannie, who married James M. Sasser; Emma Ella, who married William T. Rehberg; Thomas; and Sara Rejina, who married Franklin Jefferson Miller. Pvt. Sellers died in the Battle of the Wilderness, and the marker is placed beside the grave of his beloved wife Sara in his memory since his body was never recovered. The Anna Jackson Chapter 224, UDC, and Ochlocknee Rifles, SCV, 1807 Camp are assisting the family in this memorial dedication. All family members and friends are invited to this ceremony.
