The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** The Cairo Messenger, Friday, July 22, 1955 Mrs. Arch (Josie Bullard) Harrell, 79 Funeral services for Mrs. Arch (Josie) Harrell, 79, of Cairo and Camilla, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the South Georgia Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Whigham old cemetery beside the body of her husband, who passed away in October, 1938. The last rites were conducted by Rev. Stanley R. Hahn, assisted by Rev. L. E. Williams and Rev. N. H. Williams of Camilla. Active pallbearers were Sam Veal, Frank Veal, Marion Fain, Frances Allen, Elvin Faircloth and L. D. Eddings. Mrs. Harrell died at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Mitchell County Hospital at Camilla, where she was carried after falling and breaking a hip, she having fallen Thursday, July 14. She had been in ill health for the past five years, and at the time of death was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Irene Harrell Wallace. The deceased was born February 11, 1876 in Mitchell County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bullard. After her marriage to the late Arch Harrell, she and her husband resided in Whigham for a number of years, later moving to Cairo. She was an active member of the Cairo First Baptist Church until ill health forced her retirement five years ago. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Irene H. Wallace, Camilla; two sons, Melvin Harrell, Cairo and A. B. Harrell, Mobile, Ala; four grandchildren, Johanna E. Wallace, Camilla, Staff Sgt. Hobson H. Harrell in the U. S. Army at Madison, New Jersey, Spence Harrell, Mobile, Ala., and Tommy Harrell, Cairo. Also one brother, R. F. Bullard, Camilla. South Georgia Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
