D. Gainous 70 (Mora Harrell) Mrs. R. D. Gainous passed away at her home here on Third Avenue, S. E. Saturday March 31, after an illness of three months. The funeral service was held at Mars Hill Christian Church at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Revs. L. Z. Widener and Thursby conducting. Interment was in Mars Hill cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Sholar, Lester Cone, Elmer Muggridge, Charlie Gainous, Debbs Pollock, and Von Sellers. Mrs. Gainous, the former Miss Mora Harrell, was born in Grady County on July 12, 1880, the daughter of the late Elisha and Missouri Parker Harrell. Her entire life was spent in Grady County and Decatur Counties. She was a member of the Mars Hill Christian Church. Surviving are: her husband, Mr. R. D. Gainous; five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Royals, Pelham, Mrs. Lillian Ferrell, and Mrs. Mamie Hall, Cairo; Mrs. Frances Bowen and Mrs. Bill Bowen, Sarasota, Fla.; one son, Harrell Gainous, U. S. Army; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gara Clayton, Bruton, Alabama and Mrs. Bessie Fletcher, Miami, Fla.; three brothers, W. R. Harrell, Tallahassee, Fla.; Lonnie Harrell, Bograton, Fla., and Preston Harrell, Sanford, Fla. Arrangements were handled by Forsyth-Bearden Funeral Home.
