Mrs. Beulah Faircloth Gainous, 63, wife of Johnson Gainous, passed away at her residence on Thursday, Oct 28, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held last Saturday at the Spring Hill Methodist Church with Rev. John Taylor and Rev. Lester Underwood officiating. Interment was in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Bill Hester, Charlie Gainous, Marshall Martin, Roy Drew, Elton Moore, Judson Ponder, Douglas Harrell, Roy Thomas, Sam King, Clifford Maxwell, Leroy Mann, and Neel Morrison. Mrs. Gainous was born in Mitchell County on April of 1902, the daughter of the late Jack C. and Alice Crosby Faircloth. A member of the Spring Hill Methodist Church, she had lived most of her life in Grady County. Survivors are her widower, their sons, Dewitt Gainous, Cairo, Jimmy Gainous, Cairo, and Larry Gainous, Fernandina Beach, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. Merle Bennett, Key Largo, Fla., Miss Jean Gainous, Austell, GA., two brothers, Tom Watson Faircloth, Pelham and Jack C. Faircloth, Pelham; four sisters, Mrs. Marietta Ferrell, Mrs. Ray Nazworth, both of Pelham, Mrs. Hattie James and Mrs. Ed Morris, both of Cairo and eight grandchildren. Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrantements.
