The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for FREE access. ************************************************************************************************************** The Cairo Messenger, October 15, 1965 Mrs. Fannie Harrell Lifetime Resident Of Grady County Dies Mrs. Fannie Moore Harrell, 92, a lifetime resident of Grady County, passed away Oct. 9 at the home of her son, Elton Moore, just north of Whigham, following an illness of three months. Funeral services were held last Monday at the Springhill Methodist Church, with Rev. John Taylor, pastor of Springhill Church, officiating. Interment was in Springhill Cemetery. Mrs. Harrell was born on May 7, 1873 in Rutledge, Ala., the daughter of the late Charles and Sally Holt King. She was a member of the Springhill Methodist Church and had resided in Grady County her entire lifetime. Active pallbearers were Hershel Bishop, Harry Flake, Thornton King, Dewitt King, and Ralph Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Johnson Gainous, Raymond Wheeler, Marshall Martin, Willie Mac Maxwell, Lloyd Bishop, Gene Thomas, Coy Gainous, William Perkins, Neal Morrison, Edwin Morrison, Vance Sellers, Luther Powe, Ralph Larkin, Carl Ponder, Dewey Harrington, Edward Burnum, Judson Whigham, Bill Hester, Dempsey Hester, Bill Gainous, Clisby Gainous, Calvin Hawthorne, Melvin Knight, Thorold Harrell, Roger Gainous, Cuy Harrell, Robert Boyette and Roy Thomas. She is survived by one son, Elton Moore; one granddaughter, Mrs. Jack Donald, Tifton, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Darrell and Diane Donald of Tifton; three step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth Logue, Mrs. Ethel Ponder, both of Grady County, and Mrs. Becky Logue, Largo, Fla., and a host of nieces and nephews. Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
